Rotary Wing

Modern rotary wing systems are essential capabilities for the land battle as they are for the emergency services provided by Governments and other civil providers. From the effects generated on the battlefield to the lifesaving and humanitarian responses of our military and civil providers, rotary wing systems are key to these capabilities. The operators depend on safe, reliable and efficient systems to do their job. Nova Systems understands the demands of these environments as does its professional and committed workforce.

Nova Systems’ Rotary Wing Program aspires to enable operationally-ready end-user capability by delivering and enhancing rotary wing assets and support systems. We do this by engaging with clients within the end user units and program offices to understand their needs, risks and issues in taking new complex equipment and systems to the operational domain.

The Nova Rotary Wing Program is focused on Australian Army Aviation and Naval Aviation, overseas military operators, and civil Emergency Rescue and Aero-medical providers.

Nova Systems involvement in recent Rotary Wing acquisition projects includes support to the introduction into service of the Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter (Tiger), the MRH-90 under Air 9000 Ph. 2/4/6, acquisition engineering activities for CH-47 under Air 9000 Ph5C/D, and support to the MH-60R Seahawk under Air 9000 Ph. 8. Nova has recently or is currently supporting engineering, test and logistics engineering activities for Army and Navy in-service helicopter types including Chinook, Blackhawk, Squirrel and Seahawk helicopters. Nova Systems also provides support to civilian emergency services Rotary Wing operations and acquisitions.

Nova provides engineering, system safety, weapons integration, test and evaluation, certification, airworthiness (operational and technical) and transition into service services in the rotary wing domain which enable capability and reduce risk inherent in complex system acquisition. Additionally, in combination with our Maritime Program capability, Nova is an expert at Ship / Helicopter integration across the gamut of applicable aviation and maritime engineering, test and certification requirements including First of Class Flight Trials.

Nova Systems’ depth and technical expertise in Rotary Wing introduction into service is complementary to our clients’ aims to achieve effective and assured operational capability. Nova’s success in rotary wing support has resulted from Nova’s absolute commitment to the end-user. Nova Systems holds the same commitment to all our clients.
