Nova proudly donates $40k to CanTeen
Feb 16, 2018
Nova recently presented CanTeen with a donation of $40,016.05.
This donation was raised through the hard work and physical effort of 13 riders and support crew, cycling 1080km from Adelaide South Australia, to Melbourne, Victoria via the Coorong and the Great Ocean Road in late 2017.
The 8 day bike ride significantly exceeded the target goal amount of $15,000 and was made possible through the generosity of the Nova community, and sponsors including Cooks Trailers, Solitaire Automotive group, and 99 Bikes.
Presenting the donation to CanTeen at their recent Water Wonderland Rec Day in Adelaide, Nova Group Chief Information Officer Tas Ranson said “We are very proud to support young people 12-25 whose world has been turned upside down by Cancer. We hope that this money will help make a real difference to the lives of a good number of people affected by Cancer.”
CanTeen helps young people cope with cancer in their family. Through CanTeen, they learn to explore and deal with their feelings about cancer, connect with other young people in the same boat and if they’ve been diagnosed themselves, we also provide specialist, youth-specific treatment teams. Just when life should be full of possibilities, cancer crashes into a young person’s world and shatters everything. Cancer pushes them back in to the nest, makes them grow up too fast and weighs them down with worries they’re not supposed to have yet. Canteen is there to help.
